Networking Components and Their Functions.

Networking is the concept of sharing resources and services. A network of computers is a group of interconnected systems sharing resources and interacting using a shared communications link. A network, requires two or more individual systems with something to share (data).

Rack / Data unit

They vary in size according to units. i.e. 6, 21, 42 units.42 unit rack are present in huge data center. You must know the size of your device in order to buy the required unit. Some components of rack are cable tray, patch panel, patch cords, switch i.e. cisco switch layer1 and layer2, firewall, brush panel and router.

Backbone contains various point that combine into single unit (cable). One point have one cable. Telephone cable pair has 25 color code i.e. white, red, black, yellow and violet each have five color band (orange, green, brown, grey and blue).

Is a physical data link layer technology for local area networks (LANs) which uses bus or star topology to transfer between the devices in the network. It was commercially introduced in 1980 and first standardized in 1983 as IEEE 802.3 and has been refined to support higher bit rates and long distances. The Ethernet standards comprise several wiring and signaling variants of the OSI physical layer in use with Ethernet.

Testing, Terminating and Trace tools

Here are some tools (equipment) which are LAN tester, Cable analyzer, Fusion machine, cutting machine and climping cable. Figure below shows fusion machine and LAN tester.
